About Me

I'm Adam and I'm a former SEN charity senior manager, a CELTA qualified English teacher, and musician based in Donostia/San Sebastian.

 

With 15 years experience working in health, social care and education and a lifetime of musical activity, I offer services relating to each of these areas

English Tutoring

​

As a CELTA qualified English teacher, I work in primary, secondary and college settings, in a language academy and with businesses, as well as offering online lessons. I cater my lessons to the students by identifying their goals and preferred learning methods. Find out more here

Special Education

​​

I worked in health, social care and education for 15 years, half of which as a senior manager at one of the UK's most progressive and respected learning disability charities. I offer support, guidance and training in subjects relating to Safeguarding, Person Centred Planning, Positive Behaviour Support, Makaton, as well as advice to people and carers about navigating the complex world of care. Guitar

​​

I've been playing, writing and performing music since I was a child. Primarily a guitarist, I am also proficient on other instruments including bass, piano, synths, percussion as well as electronic production, familiar with DAWS such as Ableton and Garageband. I have tutored guitar and delivered music therapy sessions throughout my career. Check out my Guitar and English course here

Composition & Performance 

​​

I wrote and performed in the Scottish alt-rock band White Heath. Known for energetic and unpredictable live performances and a complex multi-instrumental approach, we signed to Electric Honey records (Belle and Sebastian, Biffy Clyro, Snow Patrol) and recorded our album ‘Take No Thought For Tomorrow’ with internationally renowned composer, musician and producer Jim Sutherland (Disney’s ‘Brave’, Netflix’s ‘Outlaw King’, La Banda Europa, Robert Plant). I have provided session guitar work and performed regularly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as Wickerman Festival and Kelburn Festival.

I have composed scores and sound design for productions by the PiP Theatre Company disability arts group, with whom I have performed and recorded at venues including BBC Maida Vale Studios, The Tabernacle Theatre, The Cadogan Hall, and the V&A Museum, and I have written bespoke pieces for short films, television broadcasts, social media content and contemporary dance performances
