Guitar Tuition
My guitar lessons are ideal for first time players, beginners of all ages, or anyone wishing to dust off an old electric or acoustic guitar and get back into playing.
Familiar with a variety of styles, I can support you to get to know instrument and learn the basics of playing and performing.
I'll help you understand how to read tablature, chord diagrams and scale patterns, and can support you to prepare for preliminary and early grades examinations.
I offer in-person sessions and can also provide online remote learning so you can keep up your learning despite Covid restrictions.
Experience and accessibility
I have a Level 3 Award in Education Training certificate (formerly PTTLS) and an Enhanced DBS. I am also fully trained in Makaton and have expert understanding of teaching people with learning disabilities and autism.
Full time I am the Service Manager of an education centre for adults with learning disabilities where I have years of experience of leading music classes and music therapy sessions, as well as teaching social and communication, core education, independent living and vocational skills.
Person-centred approach
I use a person-centred approach. That means placing the learner at the core of everything we do: the subject matter, the speed at which we work, the songs and styles we play and the learning objectives are all determined by the student’s needs and choices.
